Clear Gold-Flecked Guardian Lion on a Column Resin Sculpture - 121cm
Clear Gold-Flecked Guardian Lion on a Column Resin Sculpture - 121cm $4,65900
Description

A guardian lion sits front facing on top of a tall square column, and both are clear resin flecked with gold leaf. The column has a fluted band beneath its cap and runs plain to the foot, the gold scattered all the way down it, so the shaft glitters as much as the lion above it. Lion and column come as one piece.

Gold Leaf From the Lion's Mane to the Foot

The leaf is scattered through the lion and the column alike, so they read as a single object, not an animal on a stand. In the lion it gathers in the mane and the chest, where the carving is deepest and the gold catches in the hollows. The fluted band gives the column a capital without a change of material, and every arris on the shaft is kept crisp so the clear edges frame the gold. Each casting carries its own scatter, so no two columns glitter alike.

At 121cm the piece belongs on the floor of a hallway, a landing or beside a doorway, and the lion comes to about chest height on a standing visitor. A plain wall behind lets the gold read; light from the side makes the flakes flash as you pass. In a pair, one either side of an entrance, the lions face out to greet arrivals.

Leaf, Column Height and Delivery

Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. Silver, copper or gold leaf can fill the lion and shaft, thinned or packed more densely, and a different column height can be ordered. The fluted capital can be left plain, and the lion itself can be gilded or left clear while the shaft keeps its leaf. A mirror-image lion can be made so two stand either side of an entrance. A long crate brings it, and lifting it upright takes two people. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A gold-flecked guardian lion on a tall column belongs with our lion statues; a lion keeping watch from a height leads to our figurative sculptures, and gold leaf right down a clear shaft joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
