This clear resin slab has no straight line anywhere in it: the outline runs in and out in shallow lobes and the top surface is left in soft ripples rather than flatted. Gold flecks are suspended through the whole thickness, and they continue down into the slender legs, which taper away from the underside and read as extensions of the slab rather than fittings under it.
The flecks are at every depth in the clear body rather than gathered near the base, and they are visibly at different depths from one another, so the slab has thickness to look into instead of a pattern on a face. Fleck density matches between the slab and the legs, and the legs carry them right down to the floor, so there is no point where the gold stops. The flecks are irregular in size and shape, not a uniform glitter, and they catch a warm light and almost disappear under a cool one. The legs are slender for the span, and the lobed outline runs well out past them at either end.
The top stands at desk height, which makes it a writing table or a generous side table rather than a dining one. It takes a wall in a hallway or a bedroom window, and because it is transparent it will hold that position without closing the room. The rippled top is not level enough for a laptop to sit square, so it is better suited to books, a lamp and a tray than to a working screen. The gold reads warm under filament light and almost disappears under cool daylight. Indoor use only.
It takes 3–4 weeks to make as standard, and 5–6 weeks to make bespoke. A higher-clarity casting grade is offered in place of the standard resin, and it is the option worth understanding first, because on a piece whose whole point is looking into the material it changes more than the colour does: the standard grade carries a faint cast in a thick section, and the high-clarity one does not. It is quoted separately. Fleck density is set at order from sparse, where the gold is an occasional incident, to heavy, where it becomes the surface; and silver or copper is substituted for the gold, copper being the warmest of them against timber. The length can be altered either way, and a long span is given an extra leg. It is crated with its legs on, lifted only by the slab, and lowered onto every leg together rather than one side first. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A rippled, gold-flecked slab on tapering legs suits our contemporary and modern sculptures; as a writing table it joins our art furniture, and its lobed edge leads to our organic sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
