Description

A square shaft of colourless resin a third longer than the other in the pair, the same gold leaf held inside it and the same steel at either end. The same colourless body and gold leaf, spread over a run a third longer, so the gold reads sparser. It stands on its own steel cap, and nothing else is supplied.

The Same Field Over a Longer Run

The same window a third longer changes what the spacing has to do: the eye travels further between one piece of leaf and the next, so the gold reads as drift rather than as a scatter. Over this run the leaf sits further apart, so what the eye finds between one fleck and another is clear body, and it reads drift where the other column reads a filled field. The mass is the whole difference: the run is longer, so the leaf has further to travel and the eye finds more clear body between one piece and the next. Polished on the resin and brushed on the steel, the same pairing at the greater height.

It belongs at a door return or the end of a run of cupboards, where a narrow upright has a wall at its back. Set it against a dark wall. Over this length a pale ground turns the whole column into a silhouette. Light it from two heights, or a shaft this long goes bright at the middle and dead at both ends. The eye is taken up the shaft by the gold, which is spaced to keep it moving rather than to gather anywhere.

Deeper Caps, and a Crate That Stands

Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. Say the word and the gold is concentrated toward one end, another leaf is used, or the caps are made deeper. Deepen the caps and the clear run between them shrinks, which changes the piece from a shaft with ends into a block with a window. Crated standing, and it arrives ready to place. Two people for the lift and a third to steady it while it is set down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Steel caps at either end of this gold-flecked shaft lead to our stainless steel sculptures; the long run of clear resin between them joins our resin sculptures, and a door return backed by a wall takes it among our indoor sculptures.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
