Bent forward from the hips, this small figure in cast resin has its neck stump tipped up at one side while the back runs out broad and rough to the other, so the body reads as caught mid-bow. The surface is hewn in long raking strokes rather than flat faces, and gold leaf gathers in a few bright patches inside the clear resin.
The striations run with the bend, so the strokes across the back read as the direction of the movement rather than as texture for its own sake. Where they cross the gold the leaf breaks into fine points of light. The rougher passages are left rough, while the neck stump is kept clean-edged so the eye finds the head end at once. The strokes follow the curve of the back from the neck end round to the far edge, and the gold patches sit beneath them like light under water.
At 26cm it sits on a shelf or a bedside table, and it wants to be seen side on, where the bow reads clearly. A dark surface beneath gives the clear resin an edge, and a side lamp raises the strokes across the back. Because it bends one way, turn the neck end toward where people come in, so the movement reads as they arrive.
Whether it is standard or bespoke sets the build: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. A heavier or lighter scatter can be set at order, with copper or silver in place of the gold, and the resin can take a smoke, amber or pale violet tint. The bend can be deepened or eased, and the size chosen at order. Order two or three at once and they share a pour, so the gold agrees. A single sleeved box holds it, and it needs nothing to fix it down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A torso bent forward mid-bow belongs with our classic sculptures; raking strokes across a broad back lead to our abstract sculptures, and clear resin with patches of gold joins our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
