Clear Gold Fleck Knotted Loop Resin Sculpture, 66cm, glossy looped ribbon form with gold flecks on a black marble base, plain grey background.
Clear Gold Fleck Knotted Loop Resin Sculpture - 66cm $2,02400
Description

The Clear Gold Fleck Knotted Loop Resin Sculpture rises from a black marble base, supplied with the piece. The form is a single ribbon of resin turned back on itself and knotted, so two large openings are left through the body and the outline changes completely between the front and the side. Its edges are lobed and irregular rather than cut, and every face is polished to a full gloss.

A Ribbon Knotted Back Through Itself

The knot is what carries the piece. The ribbon rises, folds across its own path, and comes back down through the gap it has just made, which leaves the two openings and gives the sculpture a front and a back that share almost nothing. Seen from the side it narrows to a thin blade; seen from the front it fills its whole width. The lobed edges catch a highlight all the way round, and because the material is glossy the openings read as bright rings rather than as holes.

At 66cm overall it suits a console or a sideboard rather than the floor, and its small base means it needs very little surface. It wants space behind it rather than beside it, since the openings only read against a clear background: a pale wall, a mirror or a window all work, a bookcase does not. Turn the knot towards the room. The black base gives it enough visual weight to hold its own on dark timber as well as on pale stone. Indoor use only.

Three Colourways, Three Different Objects

Ours is a 3–4 week build as standard, and a 5–6 week build when the commission is bespoke. This form is made colourless with gold flecks suspended through it, in a frosted blue and in a smoke ink, and they are not variations of one another so much as different sculptures from one mould. Colourless with gold, the openings dominate and the piece reads as drawing in the air, with the flecks catching light at every depth; in blue the mass dominates and the piece reads as a solid coloured form with holes in it. Which one suits depends entirely on the wall behind it, so it is worth deciding against the actual position rather than in the abstract. Other tints are available from the studio range. The base can be supplied in an alternative stone. The piece is light for its size but the blade edges and the narrow sections at the top of the knot are the parts that will chip, so it travels in a fitted foam shell with the base packed separately and is lifted around the body rather than through an opening. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A ribbon tied back into its own knot sits with our abstract sculptures; two openings left by the knot place the loop among our organic sculptures, and gold suspended in the knot keeps it with our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
