Description

Rounded, faceted boulders crowd together at the top of this clear resin rock like a heap of tumbled ice. The biggest sits at the centre, another is perched out at the right and a third bulges away on the left, all gathered over a slim trunk that widens again into a broad, rugged foot. Bright gold leaf is caught among them: a feathery folded flake near the top, crumpled pieces on either side and a curved sliver of gold low in the trunk.

Feathered Gold in a Heap of Ice Boulders

Imported clear resin is crinkled and dimpled over the whole surface, a glittering skin that throws back pinpoints of light, yet the broad faces of the boulders stay glassy enough to show the gold behind them. The leaf is bright and metallic, folded into sharp creases, and the flake at the top has a serrated, feathery edge. Some flakes turn edge-on and show only a fine gold line. The heap of boulders and the gold within it are arranged differently in every rock.

At 35cm it fits a mantelpiece, a hall table or a bookshelf, and it works on a desk or a bedside table as well. Its rounded top looks best from slightly above, so a low surface near a window suits it, where daylight sets the dimpled skin sparkling and lifts the gold. A dark shelf behind it helps the boulders read as separate forms. Indoor use only.

Gold Placement, Finish and Delivery

It takes 3–4 weeks to make as standard, and 5–6 weeks to make bespoke. The gold can be spread through every boulder, gathered into the topmost one or replaced with silver or copper leaf, and the dimpled skin can be polished smooth for a glassier look. Other sizes are made to order. One rock is sold per order, on its own. It is wrapped and packed in a fitted carton, and it should be held around the trunk and foot when lifted, never by a boulder. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Heaped boulders of glittering clear resin, feathered with bright gold leaf, are welcome in our indoor sculptures; the gold and the casting point to our resin sculptures, the tumbled outline to our abstract sculptures.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
