A crescent bowl of clear resin, standing on a short flat cut at the low point of its own curve, its face cut into concentric channels that follow the sweep from one horn to the other. There is no tint in the body at all: bright gold-toned flakes fill it from horn to horn and are the only colour anywhere in it. Nothing is supplied under it.
In a channelled body the grooves lead the eye along the piece, so the flakes are read in order rather than all at once. The channels run the length of the piece rather than across it, following the sweep from one horn to the other, and each groove picks up its own line of bright points from the flakes around it. The body is left without any tint, so the gold-toned flakes are the only colour in it and nothing competes with them. It is polished to the bottom of each channel, so the grooves read as lines of light rather than as cuts.
A sideboard or a deep console shows it best, at a height where the channels can be seen from over the rim. It wants a dark ground, which is unusual for a clear piece and is entirely because of the gold. Under a lamp the flakes light up along the channels from one horn to the other rather than all at once. The crescent shape carries across a room; the channels and the flakes are both work for the near distance.
Plan for 3–4 weeks on a standard piece and 5–6 weeks on a bespoke commission. The channels are cut deeper, the gold-toned flakes are left out, and the clear body is tinted. Deeper channels give each groove a darker line beside its highlight, so the crescent reads more strongly ribbed without changing shape. With the flakes left out, the channels alone carry the piece and read as clear ripples across the face. It travels in one crate, and it is taken out from under the belly, never by the horns, which are the fragile part. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Cut in concentric channels and filled with gold-toned flakes, this clear crescent bowl rests among our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
