Clear Gold-Flecked Guardian Lion Cast Resin Sculpture, 21cm, seated front-facing with gold flecks through the mane, collar, and paws, on a plain white background.
Clear Gold-Flecked Guardian Lion Cast Resin Sculpture - 21cm $1,76700
Description

This cast resin sculpture is a small guardian lion, front facing and seated square in colourless material. Gold-toned flakes are caught right through the casting rather than laid on it, gathering thickest across the mane and the knotted collar and running on down the chest, the haunches and all four paws. At arm's length it reads as a pale glassy animal with a warm head; close to, the flakes show at every depth inside the material.

Gold-Toned Flakes from Brow to Paw

Flakes scattered through a whole body have no line to follow, so the spread of gold is judged across the lion as a whole rather than feature by feature, and in a clear casting a bare patch or a crowded one shows at once. The carving is held to the same standard. The curls of the mane, the bulging eyes, the row of teeth and the band of the collar are all cut to a crisp edge, and the whole surface is polished glassy, because a dull skin would cloud the gold behind it. No two castings carry their flakes in quite the same places.

It is made to desk, shelf and mantelpiece scale, and it has a strong front and a plain back, so it belongs against something rather than in the middle of a table. It wants light coming down onto the head and chest, where the flakes catch it; from below the mane goes dark and the animal loses its point. A dark ground behind it makes the gold read hardest. Grouped with the full-size members of the family it does not compete, since a clear body reads as glass beside a tinted one.

Flake Colour, the Facing Pair and What Arrives

A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. Silver and copper are offered in place of the gold, and the flakes can be thinned out, packed closer or kept to the mane and the collar alone. The body takes a tint of amber, grey or green, and a frosted finish is made instead of the polish. This lion faces forward and a mirrored companion is made so the two stand as a traditional facing pair; the price is for one animal. Greater scales are cut to order. It arrives boxed and sleeved with nothing to assemble and is a one-hand carry. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Front-facing guardian lions are struck into lion statues, lined up with our figurative sculptures, and boxed off in resin sculpture.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
