Clear Gilded Tree Column Cast Resin Sculpture - 135/158/200cm $5,73700
Description

Each of these slender clear columns carries a small guardian lion on its cap and a gilded scene set into the shaft: a tree in leaf with birds perched on its branches, worked in solid gold relief, with gold leaf flecked through the resin around it. The column is square in plan and comes in three heights. The lion on top has a gilded head and legs and a clear body flecked with gold.

A Gilded Tree and Birds Inside a Clear Column

The tree and its birds are gilded relief set inside the clear shaft, so the gold sits within the column rather than on its face and stays bright however it is handled. The flecks of gold leaf around them are scattered more thinly, which keeps the scene legible against them. On top, the small lion's gilding ties it to the gold scene below it. The arrises of the shaft are kept crisp from cap to foot. Each casting places the gold leaf a little differently around the scene.

Even at 135cm a column this slender wants a floor and a wall behind it, not a surface: on a table it becomes precarious and the gilded scene rises above eye level, where it is lost. Standing on the floor, the gilded scene sits between knee and shoulder on the first two heights and rises to eye level on the tallest. A hallway, the turn of a stair, or the space beside a door all suit it. Light from the side catches the gilded relief; a downlight overhead lights the lion and leaves the shaft flat, so a wall light does more here than a ceiling one.

The Gilded Scene, the Lion and Bringing It In

Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. It is made in three heights, chosen from the size options, each at its own price. The scene is open: a tree and birds as here, bamboo or blossom, or a plain shaft with the lion alone. The gilding can be gold, silver or copper, and the lion can match the column in clear resin or carry gold or a tint. Column and lion arrive apart in one long crate, laid flat, and go together on site without tools; two people should stand it up. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A column with a gilded tree and birds inside belongs with our classic sculptures; gold leaf scattered through a clear shaft leads to our resin sculptures, and a slender column to stand beside a door joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
