Clear Gilded Relief Column Resin Sculptures in three heights (100/130/150cm) by Giant Sculptures, with gold leaf accents, bird and blossom motifs, and clear resin guardian lions on top, shown on a plain white background.
Clear Gilded Relief Column Resin Sculpture - 100/130/150cm $3,51000
Description

Each of these resin columns is a slender clear shaft, square in plan, with gold leaf caught inside it and gilded relief worked up the front: a bird perched on a branch, and sprays of blossom nearer the foot. A small guardian lion in clear resin sits on the squared cap at the top. The design is made in three heights, offered as size options, and the whole piece is polished clear between the gilded passages.

Gilded Relief on a Slender Clear Shaft

A slender shaft has to stand exactly upright, and at these heights any lean shows. The section is tall for its width, so the four faces are trued against each other rather than one at a time, and the cap is squared to the foot rather than to the shaft, which is what stops the lion on top looking tipped. The relief is the slow work. The gilding is laid over a clear surface, where any tool mark beneath the leaf shows through it as a dull passage rather than as a shadow.

Each height belongs on the floor, where the relief can be read standing: by a door, at the end of a hall, in an alcove, or as one of two flanking an opening. It needs a level floor and the relief turned toward the approach. Daylight from the side puts the gold forward and leaves the clear resin as depth behind it; a ceiling light finds only the cap.

The Relief, the Heights and What Arrives

A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. Each height has its own price in the size options. The relief is open: this bird and blossom, bamboo, characters to your own wording, or none at all on a plain flecked face. Silver or copper can replace the gold of the relief, and the shaft can be left without leaf. A sphere or nothing at all can take the lion's place on the cap. The shaft travels upright in its own case with the lion boxed apart, to be seated once the column stands; lift by the body and keep it vertical. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Blossom and a perched bird worked in gold belong with our classic sculptures; three heights of one slender design lead to our contemporary and modern sculptures, and leaf caught inside the shaft joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
