A clear square shaft with gold leaf inside it, this resin column carries a gilded relief up its front, a bird perched under broad leaves with sprays of branches nearer the foot, and finishes in a flat cap with a gilded lion seated on top. The height given includes the lion. The relief therefore starts at the knee and finishes overhead.
Relief at this height is read in two ways at once, and that changes how it is cut. Near the floor it is met close up, at the distance where a fingernail's depth of undercut matters; near the cap it is seen from below at an angle, where the same undercut disappears entirely. So the depth is graded up the shaft - shallow at the bottom, progressively deeper toward the top - and the gilding is applied with the shaft standing, so each passage is judged from the distance it will actually be seen from rather than from a bench.
At a hundred and ninety over the two parts the lion sits above the eye and the relief covers the whole standing height, so this is a floor piece for an entrance, a stair foot, a double-height hall or one side of an opening. The traditional setting is a pair, one to each side, and one column is what this price buys. It needs level floor and headroom above the lion. Daylight from the side lifts the gold off the clear resin; a ceiling light finds the lion and the top of the relief only.
Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. What is worked up the shaft is open: these birds and branches, blossom, bamboo, a band of characters cut to your own wording, or a plain flecked face. Silver and copper gilding are offered as well as this gold, and the leaf inside the resin can be left out. The animal on the cap is made as this lion, as a sphere or as a lotus bud. It ships upright, cased, with the lion boxed apart and seated once the shaft is standing. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A tall column crowned by a gilded lion belongs with our lion statues; gilded birds on branches up the shaft lead to our classic sculptures, and leaf glinting through the whole column joins our resin sculptures.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
