The transparent section of this bench is unusually deep, which is what makes the panel behave as a block rather than a sheet. Its top and both long faces are worked into a coarse frozen texture, irregular and faceted, so whatever light reaches one face leaves it broken into fragments. The panel stands on two brushed stainless blades.
At this section the texture is doing something different from the same texture on a thinner panel. A shallow section shows the pattern of the working; at this depth the pattern arrives twice over, direct from the face nearest you and again as a broken return off the one behind, and the two readings interfere. The facets are therefore cut at a scale coarse enough that the two readings stay separable, which is a decision about depth rather than about surface. The material is a clear resin casting with the brilliance of cut crystal, and it carries the working well at this thickness, holding a bright arris where a softer body would round over.
A deep section reads as weight, so this suits a place that can carry something substantial at low level: a wide hall, a lobby, the long side of a room where a bench is more useful than chairs. Sit down beside it and the texture comes into its own, and so do the two ends, where the whole depth of the section is on show. Brushed blades keep quiet under a busy panel and take the floor tone. Leave the ends clear rather than driving it into a corner, since the section is the argument.
Every standard piece is made in 3–4 weeks, and every bespoke commission in 5–6. Section depth is offered lighter, which changes both the price and the way the texture doubles. The facets can be cut finer or coarser, and the top face can be left smooth where the bench will be sat on daily. Length is cut to order. A tint can be introduced into the casting. Blades are available polished, coated or in a darker metal. Panel and blades arrive apart and are joined under the panel on site. At this section the panel is a heavy lift for three people; the blades are carried singly, and the block comes sleeved, its ends boxed against knocks. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A section deep enough to read as a block belongs with our stainless steel sculptures; facets cut coarse enough to stay separable lead to our organic sculptures, and seating for a lobby that can carry real weight joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
