The drum is thick clear resin with a frozen granular texture running through its depth and small amber-brown fragments suspended in it, and its side is cut away underneath into arched openings so the piece stands on broad feet. The fragments are scattered through the whole drum, some lying just beneath the top face and others deep in the wall, each one turned at its own angle.
The fragments are laid in before the resin goes round them, so they sit at different depths through the drum rather than in one plane, and the frozen texture is worked into the mould rather than ground in afterwards. The arches are cut and then ground back through the full depth of the wall, which is slow because the inside of an arch has to reach the same finish as the outside or the piece reads dull from a seated position. The top face is left flat and worked last of all.
This round coffee table wants a room where it can be walked round, and since the arches are what repay looking at, it does better with air on every side of it than tucked hard against a seat. Light from above brings the fragments up through the top face, and a dark floor under it makes the arches read as openings rather than as shadow.
Plan for 3–4 weeks on a standard piece and 5–6 weeks on a bespoke commission. Most of it is the frozen texture. Three of its features are open. The fragment type and density are both open, the number of arches can be changed, and the drum can be supplied tinted. Tell us the drum diameter and the overall height. Both pieces of a pair share the scatter of the fragments in the drum when they are ordered together. Allow four people to move it. The arches are cut away from the side of the drum rather than added to it, so the whole piece arrives in one and there is nothing to unpack separately. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Amber flakes scattered through a frozen drum, with arches cut from below, take this coffee table into our art furniture; its icy texture also suits our contemporary and modern sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
