Clear Frosted Ice Block Mountain Resin Sculpture - 50cm with faceted, frosted peak form, standing directly on a plain white background.
Clear Frosted Ice Block Mountain Resin Sculpture - 50cm $2,56400
Description

A colourless block worked over its whole surface into small broken facets and left frosted rather than polished. It is very nearly as deep as it is wide, and the mass rises to one rounded summit that sits a little back from the front. It stands directly on the surface with nothing supplied beneath it.

Frosting Is What Makes the Depth Visible

A clear casting this deep has a problem that a thin one does not: there is so much resin between its two faces that light goes straight out the other side and the interior is lost. Polished, a block this size reads as a flat pane with a bright edge, and all the modelling inside it disappears. The frosting is what puts the volume back. Each facet scatters at its own angle, so the face reads as a soft depth rather than as a pane, and wherever the eye lands on it there is something to settle on. It is the reason a piece this heavy still looks like something rather than like a window.

It is nearly square in plan and is read from all round, so pushing it back against anything costs half of it. The middle of a low table, the end of an island or a plinth in a hall all suit it, with room allowed in both directions. It carries light rather than reflecting it, which means a lamp standing beside it at the same level is worth more than anything mounted above. Standing it where daylight crosses it during the day is the simplest way to see the whole of it change.

The Surface, the Body, and Delivery

Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The facet size is drawn coarser or finer, the body is tinted through, and a polished finish is offered in place of the frosting. Polishing is the one change that alters what the piece is rather than how it looks, for the reason above, and is worth seeing before it is settled. The block is also cast at other proportions, including a shallower version for a narrow surface. It is a solid casting and it is heavy for its size: it travels in one crate bedded on all six faces, and two people lift it together with a hand under each side. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A frosted block rather than a skyline belongs with our organic sculptures; broken facets over deep resin bring it into our resin sculptures, and a block met from every side suits our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
