A frosted colourless mass, cast hollow with a thick wall all round. The outer surface is left rough and broken like split ice, and goldfish in orange, red and black are held on the inner face so they are seen through the thickness of the material. The block is cut flat beneath, so it wants nothing under it at all.
Putting the fish on the inside is what makes this a pond rather than a decorated block. The thickness of frosted material between the eye and the fish does exactly what water does: it softens the edges, greys the colour a little, and makes the ones further round the curve dimmer than the ones facing you, so the group reads as being at different depths when it is in fact all on one surface. Put the same fish on the outside and they are painted decoration on a lump of resin, sharp and flat and obviously stuck on. The rough outer face is the second half of it, standing in for a broken surface.
At 60cm it is heavy, so it belongs on a floor, a plinth or a very solid low table rather than a shelf. It is looked into rather than at, which means it wants to be below eye level and approached from more than one side, since different fish come forward as you move. Light from above and slightly behind runs into the frosted wall and lifts the whole interior; light from directly in front bounces off the rough face and leaves the fish dim.
Making a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks, and making a bespoke one 5–6. The number of fish is set at order and their colours chosen, the wall is cast heavier for a deeper reading, and the outer face is worked coarser or brought smooth. A version with the fish left out is made and is a plain ice block, which some rooms want. It is also cast at other sizes. One braced crate takes it, the rough face boarded on every side, and it is lifted from below by two. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A pond set inside a stone is organic sculpture; the frosted block is resin sculpture; and fish read close up, which makes it indoor sculpture.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
