Clear Frost Swirl Slab Black Rock Leg Dining Table - 180cm $9,24800
Description

This swirled resin and rock dining table has a heavy slab of clear resin for its top, its whole body worked into a dense swirling frost and its torn edge running unbroken all round. It is carried on two rough black pillars modelled as split rock, one under each end, and nothing stands on the slab itself.

A Frost Swirl Worked Through the Whole Slab

The swirl is worked into both mould faces, so the frost enters the slab from above and below and holds at different depths through its body instead of sitting in one plane. The torn edge is a cast edge, left exactly as the material finished, and it is the one part of the piece that is not brought to a polish. The two rock pillars are formed in fibreglass to an outline modelled by hand and finished matt, so they take no reflection off the slab above them. Each pillar is faced flat on top and the slab is checked across both diagonals before it is bonded down, because a slab this heavy bearing on two small footprints shows any error at once.

It wants a room where both pillars can be walked round, because the two are deliberately unalike and that is the point of the piece. Each pillar bears on a small footprint, so a hard level floor suits it better than a thick carpet. The slab overhangs both supports, so allow for the reach beyond them when measuring against a wall.

The Swirl, the Rock Legs, and Getting It In

Standard pieces take 3–4 weeks and bespoke commissions 5–6. The swirl in the slab is the slow part. There are three decisions. The swirl density is worked to order, the two pillars are drawn to your own outline, and a colour is taken through the slab where clear is not wanted. You give the top length and the pillar height. Specify the whole group at once and the density of the swirl is held through it. The crate is built around the torn slab edge and the pillar tops, and four people should carry it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A frost swirl worked through a slab on two rock pillars gives our art furniture a table to dine at; its rugged pillars suit our organic sculptures, its swirled top our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.

Questions Before You Order?
