The top of this console is a plain sheet of glass cut as a half-oval, straight along the back and curved at the front. Under it stands a sheaf of tall clear resin fronds, every one ribbed for its whole length, opening wide at the head and pulled to a narrow waist before it spreads onto a shallow oval base. The tips of the fronds curl outward and it is on those tips that the glass rests, so the contact is a set of points rather than a ring.
The base is the piece and it carries more detail than anything above it. The fronds are drawn as one bundle rather than as separate stems, so the ribbing has to run without a break from base to head on every one of them and still read as a single mass from across a room. Their tips curl outward, and the glass rests on those tips, so the contact between base and top is a handful of small points rather than a continuous ring - which is why the top appears to hover. Every rib is polished, including the inner faces where two fronds face one another and only a hand can reach. The glass is plain and untinted, a half-oval with a straight back edge, and serves only as a level plane over the fronds.
Its straight back edge lets it stand flush to the wall of a hall or behind a sofa, with a generous stretch of clear wall on either side. The fronds are the piece, and set against a wall they fan out towards the room like a sheaf of leaves. The glass shows what is beneath, so the base is seen through the top as well as round it. Four people, and the glass travels separately. Indoors.
Work on a bespoke commission runs to 5–6 weeks, on a standard piece to 3–4. The frond bundle is the slow part. There are three decisions. The frond count can be changed, the resin is offered tinted, and the glass is available smoked or in another outline. The overall length is quoted to your figure. Top length and overall height are each specified. Where two or more are wanted, the way the fronds splay under the glass is held the same across the group. Packing keeps the glass top and the curled frond tips off the crate walls, and it is a four-person carry. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A sheaf of clear resin fronds curling out beneath a half-oval of glass belongs with our organic sculptures; as a hall console it serves our art furniture, and the fronds seen through the glass keep it among our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
