Swept blades of colourless resin fold over one another the way a wing folds, wide across and shallow front to back. Beneath the wing a round opening is left where it springs from the body, and beyond it a single blade climbs high and curls over into a hook, with a row of sharp-pointed blades leaning out at its foot. The blades are smooth on both faces, and the long black slab beneath, running most of the piece's length, is the only dark thing on the object.
A form this wide and this shallow has nothing behind it to lean on. The blades sweep out from one long root, and each holds its own curve across a span several times its own thickness. Add a brace and the piece stops being a wing and becomes a construction; leave it out and every blade has to be drawn so that its curve looks able to carry itself. That is settled in the drawing and not afterwards, and it is why the blades of the wing are stacked close like flight feathers while the hook and the pointed blades on the far side stand free in clear air.
It is almost flat, so it goes against a wall the way a relief does rather than out in the open. Seen square on, it opens to its full width and the stepped edges of the wing read one after another, while the hook stands clear against the wall. A console or a long sideboard with the wall close behind is exactly right; a crowded bookcase is not, because the blades need an uninterrupted ground. It needs a long surface and very little depth. Indoor use only.
It takes 3–4 weeks to make as standard, and 5–6 weeks to make bespoke. With so little depth, the blades hold their sweep with no brace behind them, and that sweep is the first thing to settle with a commission. To order, the colourless resin can be tinted through, the wing drawn further over or opened out, the row of points given more blades or fewer and the black slab made longer, or the layout reversed so that the wing opens towards the other side. It travels flat in one case with each blade faced and the slab packed beneath, and it is lifted out by the root and stood on its slab. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Colourless blades folded like a wing beside a free-standing hook take their place in our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
