Clear Fluted Crenellated Arch Resin Sculpture - 68cm, a ribbed arch with battlement-edged top and dark marbled threads, shown on a plain white background.
Clear Fluted Crenellated Arch Resin Sculpture - 68cm $2,36100
Description

A clear arch, so slim from front to back that it stands like a slice cut from a complete ring. Close ribs fan out from the opening to the outer edge, and the outer edge is stepped like a battlement, broken into chunky squared teeth of uneven height that each span several ribs. Dark threads of ink are marbled through the body, many of them running outward along the ribs and a few pooling into small blots in the teeth.

Ribs Fanning From an Open Centre

Ribs that radiate from a centre give an arch a direction of travel: the eye starts at the opening and runs out along them to the stepped edge. Many of the dark threads follow the same lines, so they read as a grain in the material rather than a flaw, and they are scattered across the whole fan instead of gathering in one place. Keeping the piece thin is what lets the light through the whole fan; a deeper arch would darken in the middle and lose the ribs at its centre.

It wants a long sideboard or a console table with clear space to either side, where the opening can frame the wall behind. A pale wall keeps the ribs legible and the dark threads visible. Light from behind and to one side sends the ribs across one another. Across a room it is no more than a bright crescent; the ribs and threads come up as you approach.

Tint, Ribs and a Slim Crate

Give it 3–4 weeks as a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks as a bespoke commission. There are four options. The ribs can be cut closer or wider, the dark threads can be left out for an entirely clear arch, and the resin can be tinted so that a colour such as blue deepens towards the two feet and clears again before the teeth. The squared teeth along the edge can be cut chunkier or finer to suit. It ships upright in a slim crate, and it is lifted out by its two feet rather than by the teeth. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Its fanning ribs belong to organic sculpture, its clear body to resin sculpture and its arch to contemporary sculpture.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
