Description

On this cast resin and steel bench a deep clear resin slab forms the seat, its upper face striated, small amber-orange flecks held through it and its two ends curled down and under. It is carried on a mirror-polished stainless steel base of two panels and a rail. That depth is what lets it span between the two panels without anything under the middle.

Flecks Held Deep in a Clear Slab

The flecks are introduced during the pour and settle where they settle, so the scatter is different in every slab. The striation on the upper face runs the full length of the slab without stopping at a line, and the long ends are rolled right over rather than cut square. The base is polished on every face, including the inner faces of the two panels, because a clear slab above it shows what is underneath, and an unpolished inner face would read straight up through the seat.

It is a bench for a hall or a showroom, a dressing room or a bedroom, and its rolled ends invite a hand as much as a seat. The base is a mirror, so it picks up the floor it stands on: a dark timber or a stone floor suits it better than a pale carpet, which the polish will only repeat back at you.

The Slab Depth, the Base, and Lifting It In

Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. Most of it is the striated slab. You settle three things. The fleck colour and density are both open, the slab can be supplied without flecks, and the base can be made in a brushed finish instead of a mirror. Both the bench length and the seat height are yours to set. The group is made as one so that the scatter of the flecks through the slab reads the same on each piece. It arrives with the rolled ends and the polished base boxed off, and two people are wanted to set it down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
