The top of this resin bench is worked across its whole width into a close rippled relief, and from the front the texture shows through the clear block as a broken, glittering line along the edge. It is clear cast resin throughout. It rests on two mirror-polished blades that reflect the ground, so they read as gaps rather than supports.
Working the top rather than the faces puts the texture where the hand and the eye both meet it, so the relief is kept close and rounded enough to sit on in comfort, with no ridge standing proud. The ripple is set out from the middle of the panel and worked toward each end, which is where any drift is least visible, and it is carried right to the arris so the long edges show it as a broken line of light. Below that line the block is left clear, and the relief seems to hang in the resin.
A worked top kept smooth enough to sit on makes this a practical bench as well as a showpiece, and it still reads as a carved piece from across a room. Put it in a hall, along the foot of a bed, or up to a table where chairs would be one thing too many. The mirror blades want a plain floor to reflect. Set it clear of a skirting so both ends can be seen, since the overhangs are what make it look weightless.
Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. Ripple pitch can be coarsened or taken finer, and the working can be carried down the long faces as well where the bench is more for looking at than for sitting on. Length is cut to order and the depth can be increased for a fuller seat. The resin can be tinted. Blades are offered brushed, coated or in a darker metal, and their spacing is set at order. Panel and blades travel separately, bolting through plates set into the underside, so nothing arrives assembled at full length. Two people are wanted for the panel. Each blade is a one-person carry and travels boxed. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Mirror blades under a clear resin block belong with our metal sculptures; a rippled relief across the whole seat leads to our organic sculptures, and a seat to slide up to a table in place of chairs joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
