Clear Dried Botanical Bench Top Panel (180cm) by Giant Sculptures, resin slab embedding dried grasses, seed heads and flowers, amber at one end fading to clear, shown on a white background.
Clear Dried Botanical Bench Top Panel - 180cm $21,66900
Description

This is the bench top only: no legs, frame or base is supplied with it. Dried grasses, seed heads, thistles, ferns and small flowers are held through the whole thickness in browns, ochres and creams, and the body is washed amber at one end and left near-colourless at the other.

A Whole Meadow Held Through the Panel

The depth is what makes this different from a botanical panel. The material is thick enough to hold plants at genuinely different levels, so stems cross behind and in front of one another and the panel has to be looked into rather than at. Nothing is arranged in a repeating pattern: there are dense passages where seed heads cluster and open passages of clear material between them, and the amber wash at one end sits behind the plants rather than over them. Every face including the two ends is finished, so the panel reads from any side.

This is a bench seat for a hall, a landing, a gallery or the foot of a bed, once a base is under it. Its depth adds to the height of whatever carries it, so the base is chosen that much shorter than the seat wanted. It wants to be looked down into, which is why a hall or a run of glazing suits it far better than a dim corner, and light from above is what brings the plants out. Indoor use only.

Supplied as a Panel: Choosing What Carries It

Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. This is the panel alone and the base is the buyer's decision, so the practical points are worth having. At this length and thickness the panel is heavy and wants support well in from both ends rather than at the extremes, which also gives the overhang that suits it; a stainless frame, a pair of stone blocks or two timber plinths all work. The studio will make a base to the panel at order and will supply a dimensioned drawing of the underside if one is being made elsewhere. On the panel: botanical mix and density are specified at order, from a sparse scatter to the full meadow shown, the amber wash can be placed at either end or left out entirely, and lengths are made to order. Nothing about the arrangement can be repeated, so a second panel is a comparable piece and not a matching one. It travels flat and fully supported on a purpose-built pallet and is a four-person lift. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A meadow held in clear resin sits with our organic sculptures; as a bench top it belongs to our indoor sculptures, and its graphic scatter to our abstract sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
