In this cast resin sculpture the doe lies with all four legs folded away underneath her, so almost nothing of them shows: what reads is a long low mass, a neck rising from the front of it, a head turned to one side and two ears held open and wide. She has no antlers. The whole animal is optically clear and polished and she sits directly on the surface she is put on.
Folded legs are harder than standing ones because they have to be there without being seen. Each leg is fully modelled and then tucked, which means the knees, the hocks and the pasterns are all cut and finished in spaces a tool can barely enter, and every one of those spaces is visible from a low angle even though none is visible from standing. The join where the foreleg goes under the chest is the single test: too soft and the animal looks inflated, too crisp and the leg looks stuck on. It is worked with shaped points and checked by turning the piece over, which is the only position from which it can be seen at all. The ears are cut thin and open, with both faces polished, because the light comes through them.
A lying animal is looked down on, so this belongs low: the floor beside a chair, a hearth, a broad low table. From standing height the turned head and the open ears are the whole piece, which is the view it was cut for. It suits a bedroom or a quiet room rather than a hall. On a pale carpet the clear body picks up the colour beneath it and warms; on a dark floor it reads as an outline. Give it a little clear space in front of the head, which is where she is looking.
Our workshops take 3–4 weeks over a standard piece and 5–6 over a bespoke commission. The head can turn further, look straight ahead or swing round to the flank, and the same lying pose can be made as a stag with antlers. Ears can be brought closer to the head for a resting animal. Tints of amber, smoke, green and a pale rose run through the resin, and a frosted finish is offered instead of the polish. A fawn can be made to lie beside her. Any scale is cut to order. She travels lying in a fitted crate with nothing to fit, and two should carry her with hands under the body, never at the neck or an ear. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A doe lying with her legs folded away belongs with our deer statues; a head turned over open ears leads to our animal sculptures, and a long clear body to look down on joins our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
