Clear Dense Gold Fleck Mountain Resin Sculpture - 65cm, a twin-peaked clear resin mountain form with dense gold flecks throughout, shown on a plain white background.
Clear Dense Gold Fleck Mountain Resin Sculpture - 65cm $2,22700
Description

Gold leaf is laid thickly through the body of this colourless massif, from the summit to the foot. Two summits rise close together at the centre with lower ground falling away on both sides, and the faces between them are drawn in broad planes rather than in small steps. Nothing is supplied to stand it on.

Dense Flake Asks for Simple Modelling

Flake at this density competes with everything else in the object. Each piece of leaf catches light on its own account, so a face broken into small steps ends up as a field of glints with no direction in it and the modelling is simply lost. The answer is to go the other way: fewer and larger planes, each one big enough to read as a face in spite of what is suspended in front of it. It means this piece is modelled more simply than a plain casting would be, which is the opposite of what anyone expects.

Dense leaf is at its best where the light moves. A room with daylight on one side and a lamp on the other gives the piece two readings and a third as anyone walks between them; a single fixed downlighter fixes it in one. It needs little depth, which suits a console or a broad shelf, and a dark wall behind lifts the gold clear of its surroundings.

Density Against Detail, and Delivery

Order a standard piece and it takes 3–4 weeks; order it bespoke and it takes 5–6. The leaf is dense enough to compete with the form, so the faces are drawn broad and few rather than small and many. The density is dropped and the modelling opened up with it, the flake is torn finer, and a tint is carried through the body. A lighter loading allows a far more detailed mountain, which is a different object and is built as one. It travels in one padded case with both summits faced and the foot bedded, and two hands lift it by the base. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A massif dense with gold leaf belongs with our organic sculptures; broad planes drawn to carry that much flake put it in our resin sculptures, and gold set against deep colour behind it suits our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
