Clear Crystalline Wave Curl Resin Sculpture - 66cm, a colourless wave curling into a ring with textured, granular surface, on a black base against a plain light background.
Clear Crystalline Wave Curl Resin Sculpture - 66cm $2,02500
Description

Cast without any tint, this colourless wave circles back on itself into a closed ring, and inside that ring a tongue of water winds towards the centre. Above it, tall crests rise like flames, one of them hooking over at its tip, while slender fingers of spray break away low on one side. The whole surface is left rough and granular, almost like melting ice, so it glitters with a crowd of small facets rather than carrying long reflections, and it stands on a black marble block.

A Colourless Ring Left Rough All Over

Left clear, the piece depends on its surface for everything a tint would otherwise do. The rough finish breaks each highlight into points, so instead of one bright line running along the curve the ring is speckled with light all the way round, and the inward spiral is read by the shadows gathered in its folds. That only works if the grain is kept to one grade from the foot of the ring to the tips of the crests, since a smoother patch would show at once as a slick among the facets. The crests are kept tall and loose above the ring so that the outline stays lively against the wall behind.

A side table, a desk or a bookcase shelf suits it, and at 66cm on its block it is met close to, which is how the granular surface is best seen. A single lamp or a shaft of sun from one side makes the facets spark, while flat, even light leaves it quiet and pale, so set it near one strong light. A dark wall or a deep-toned shelf behind it gives the colourless ring an outline to stand against.

Colourless Throughout, the Grain, and Delivery

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. What is sold is the single wave together with its black marble block. As a commission the ring can be given a tint, the grain made coarser or finer, or the whole surface polished smooth, and the block made in a lighter marble instead; the crests can be drawn up further or held close over the ring. It travels in a fitted case with every crest padded and the block packed separately, and on site the block is levelled first and the wave set down onto it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A colourless crystalline ring spiralling inward beneath flame-like crests rests with our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
