Clear Contour Drawn Twin Summit Resin Sculpture, 52cm, with gold leaf capping two peaks and white contour lines across a frosted surface, on a plain white background.
Clear Contour Drawn Twin Summit Resin Sculpture - 52cm $2,90200
Description

Two summits with white contour lines drawn across a frosted face and gold leaf capping both peaks. The lines run in closed loops around the slopes the way they do on a printed map. It is broad and deep for its height, and nothing is supplied underneath it. Gold sits only at the two tips, so the summits read first.

A Map Drawn Onto the Thing Itself

Contour lines belong on a drawing of a mountain, not on a mountain, and putting them on the object itself is a deliberate confusion of the two. It only works if they behave: a contour is a line of constant height, so each one has to close on itself and none may cross another, and on a modelled surface that is a harder rule to keep than it sounds. Draw them freehand for effect and the eye reads decoration. Draw them properly and it reads as a map, which is the whole idea of the piece.

The lines are white on a pale frosted ground, so they need light across them rather than through them. A lamp to one side or daylight from a window at an angle picks every one of them out; a downlighter directly overhead flattens them into the surface. A console or a deep shelf suits it better than a narrow ledge.

Line Weight, the Gold, and Delivery

Delivery follows a 3–4 week build as standard, or a 5–6 week build if bespoke. The contour lines follow constant heights and close on themselves, which is what makes them a map rather than a pattern. The line weight is drawn heavier or finer, the gold at the peaks is extended or left off, and a tint is run through the body. A version with no lines at all is made and is a plain frosted twin summit. It is packed in a lined case with nothing pressed against the drawn face, and it comes out by the base. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Two gold-capped summits drawn like a map belong with our organic sculptures; white contours on frosted resin set them in our resin sculptures, and lines picked out by angled daylight suit our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
