Clear Collared Guardian Lion Resin Sculpture, 83cm, seated with open mouth and one paw on a ball, polished clear resin, on a plain white background.
Clear Collared Guardian Lion Resin Sculpture - 83cm $11,40800
Description

This resin sculpture is a guardian lion seated square on its haunches. The mane is cut in deep curls from the brow right round to the shoulder, the mouth is open, and a wide collar runs round the neck with bells worked into it. One forepaw rests on a ball; the other is planted. The animal is clear resin, polished throughout, and the price is for a single lion.

A Collar With Bells Cut Into It

The collar is the hardest thing on the animal, and it is the thing most people never look at. It runs round a neck that is not a cylinder, it carries bells that stand clear of it, and it crosses the mane, so the curls have to be cut back to receive it and then resumed on the far side with the same rhythm. It is set out on the finished neck rather than modelled with it, and each bell is undercut so a line of shadow separates it from the band. At this size each curl is a knob the size of a walnut, so the mane is read one curl at a time rather than as a texture, and the rows have to hold their spacing all the way round a head that is nowhere flat.

At eighty-three centimetres this is a floor piece: a doorway, a hearth, the foot of a stair, either side of an opening. The traditional arrangement is two facing each other, and the price here covers one animal, so order two for a pair. It needs a level floor and clear space at knee height. Light from the side is what gives the mane its depth, and a window behind puts the whole animal in outline; overhead light finds the crown and closes the curls into one mass.

The Opposed Animal, the Colour and Delivery

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. For a facing pair, the lion can be cut again in mirror image, and the ball under the paw can be replaced with a cub. Colour is open: this clear body, an amber, a green, a red, or gold leaf suspended through the resin. Sizes run from a table lion up to something well above waist height. One crate holds it upright as it sits, with the collar and the open mouth packed clear and nothing needing assembly; take the weight under the haunches. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A guardian lion with a collar of bells belongs with our lion statues; a paw resting on a ball leads to our animal sculptures, and a clear lion seated at a doorway joins our classic sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
