In this low table a plain rectangle of glass rests on four acrylic urns, and the urns are the design: each is a classical baluster with a gadrooned bowl, a beaded rim, a knopped stem and a round foot, carved all over so the material breaks light the way cut crystal does. The glass is left entirely plain against them.
Each urn is machine-carved from solid acrylic and then hand-finished, and the carving runs over the bowl, the beading, the stem and the foot without a break, which is what makes the material break light the way it does. No two are made as a pair, so the gadroons on one do not have to line up with the gadroons on the next. The glass is left plain, its edges ground and polished. The four urn tops are faced to one level before the glass goes on, because a top this rigid will not take up any error in the supports.
It belongs at the centre of a room, with floor around it so the urns can be seen from every side. The glass shows what is beneath it, so the floor under the table is part of what is looked at. The urns read best with light coming from low and across them rather than from above, since it is the carving that breaks the light and a downlight gives it nothing to work with.
Whether it is standard or bespoke sets the build: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. The work is mostly the urn carving. Three points are open. The urns can be supplied in any number from two upward for a longer top, and the glass can be cut to any plan that the urns will carry. Glass length and urn height are settled at order. Once the order is placed as one, the cut of the gadroons is carried through it. The glass top and the four urns travel in separate crates, and the urns are boxed individually because none of them is a spare for another. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Four carved acrylic urns under plain glass sit with our acrylic sculptures; as a centre table it joins our art furniture, and a formal room our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
