Clear Brown Sliver Overhanging Bluff Rock Resin Sculpture - 50cm
Clear Brown Sliver Overhanging Bluff Rock Resin Sculpture - 50cm $3,10300
Description

This clear resin rock is built from two masses standing side by side. On the left a rounded hill climbs to a knob at its outer shoulder and dips into a saddle; on the right a high bluff rises to the topmost point and leans outwards, so that its far side overhangs the foot and its underside is lifted clear. Flowing streaks sweep down every face like water combed over a weir, and ragged slivers of dark brown, some forked at one end, are scattered through both masses.

A Leaning Bluff Beside a Rounded Hill

Imported clear resin forms the whole rock, its faces drawn into long fibrous streaks that run downwards and outwards, glossy along their crests, with pinpoint bubbles caught between them. The slivers are a dark chocolate brown, torn and splintered rather than cut, some no more than a ragged shred and others branching like the end of a snapped twig, and they stand out sharply against the pale streaking. Where the bluff overhangs, the slivers show from underneath too, not only from the front. No two rocks are streaked or scattered alike.

Its width and the lean of the bluff suit a sideboard, a credenza or a broad console, ideally where the overhang is seen side-on as people approach. A lamp set to one side sharpens the streaks and deepens the brown of the slivers, while a pale wall keeps the two-part outline crisp. Leave the space beneath the overhanging side open rather than tucking a vase or a stack of books under it. Indoor use only.

Sliver Density, Surface and Delivery

Where the piece is standard the build is 3–4 weeks, and where it is bespoke 5–6. The dark slivers can be crowded more thickly or spaced further apart, swapped for golden flakes or omitted, and the streaked surface can be smoothed for a calmer finish. Further sizes are possible on commission. The price is for one rock, supplied on its own. It is crated with padding packed under the overhang, and it should be lifted by the hill and the body, never by the projecting edge of the bluff. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Leaning out past its own foot, the bluff gives our abstract sculptures a bold silhouette, while the dark slivers in its streaked resin suit our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
