Clear Brown Ink Pierced Mountain Resin Sculpture, 45cm, with pierced peaks and a curved base on a black marble stand, set against a plain white background.
Clear Brown Ink Pierced Mountain Resin Sculpture - 45cm $1,68700
Description

Three peaks in polished colourless resin with brown ink worked through the body, the tallest at the left with an arch cut through beneath it. A shallow curve of the same resin runs beneath the peaks, raised on a narrow stem from the stone. Its depth is slight, and it stands on the black marble supplied with it.

Ink Drawn to Find the Opening

A hole through a colourless casting is a strange thing to look at, because from most angles there is nothing to tell you it is there. Clear material in front of the opening and clear material behind it are the same brightness, so the arch appears and disappears as you move. The ink is what settles it. Drawn through the arms that frame the arch and on up into both of the tall peaks, it gives the eye an edge to follow, so the opening holds its shape from every side instead of closing up whenever the light flattens the clear body.

Its shallow depth means it can go on a narrow shelf where a deeper object could not. What it needs is to be lit from beyond rather than in front, and a wall at its back is worth less to it than a window or a lamp standing past it. Against a dark wall the ink disappears into the background and the arch closes up. Allow it its full width and keep the line of sight through the opening clear.

The Ink, the Cut, and Delivery

Every standard piece is made in 3–4 weeks, and every bespoke commission in 5–6. The ink is run heavier or lighter and taken toward black, the arch is cut wider, and the sweep beneath is left off. A frosted body is offered and changes the argument entirely, since frosting makes the opening obvious without any ink at all. The ink can give way to a tint through the whole body, which makes a darker and more solid piece. It goes out in one box, the arch bridged inside so nothing bears on it and the marble laid flat below, and one person can carry it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Three peaks with an arch under the left one belong with our organic sculptures; brown ink drawn through a clear body puts the piece among our resin sculptures, and an opening kept clear to the light beyond suits our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
