Description

Brown is held inside the body of every peak on this ridge rather than on it, and the material around it stays colourless. The outer material stays clear, so each summit is a pale shell over a dark core, and the colour changes with the depth of material the eye is looking through. It has no base.

The Brown Is Inside, Not On the Surface

Colour on a surface looks the same from everywhere. Colour inside a clear body does not: it is read through however much material lies between it and the eye, so the same core is nearly black through the thick middle of a peak and a warm haze through a thin edge. That gives the piece a different reading from every angle without anything on it having moved, and it is the reason the outer shell is kept genuinely clear rather than lightly tinted. A tint in the shell would flatten the range back to one colour and waste the core entirely.

Because the colour is read through the material, the piece gives more to someone crossing the room than to someone standing still. A hall, a landing or the side of a room that is crossed rather than sat in gives it that. Backlighting is what it wants above all: a window or a lamp behind turns every thin edge warm and leaves the thick middles dark, which is the effect in full. It needs a long run more than depth.

Core Colour, a Clear Version, and Delivery

Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. The brown is held inside the body rather than on it, so the colour changes with the thickness of clear material in front of it. The core colour is taken to a green or a grey, the range is built at other lengths, and a version with no core at all is made. Leaving the core out gives a clear range that reads as ice and is the plainer of the two by a long way. It comes in a case built to the ridge with each peak faced, and it is carried level by two and lowered rather than slid. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A ridge with brown weather held inside belongs with our organic sculptures; a core read through clear peaks puts it in our resin sculptures, and warm edges lit from behind suit our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
