On a black marble base, this resin scholar's rock does not sit as a mass: from a narrow twisted stem the material divides into two arms that lean apart, each carrying a large ring-shaped opening, so the object is mostly outline. The body is colourless throughout, and three finishes are made on this form.
The ring openings are what define this rock. In most of these rocks a void is an irregular hole; here two of them close into near-circles, one in each arm, so the piece reads as two loops held up on a single stem. Between and around them the material is drawn thin, nowhere much wider than a fist, and it twists as it rises so the two arms present differently from every angle. The stem beneath is the narrowest part of the whole object and takes a visible turn about a third of the way up. The material is left colourless, so the rings are drawn only by their own bright edges, and every turn of the stem shows as a line of light.
At 86cm it stands well on a study shelf or a sideboard, and the base needs nothing under it. The two rings are the reason to give it space: they want something to be seen through, so open room or a window behind is worth more to this piece than a handsome surface under it. It reads well from three sides because of the twist in the stem, so a spot approached from two directions is not wasted. A lamp beside it rather than above brings out the edges of the arms. Indoor use only.
Once ordered, a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke one 5–6. The finish is the main decision because the same form reads three different ways. Colourless is standard and the most architectural, and gold leaf can be flecked through it to order. An amber version runs warm honey through both arms and down the stem to a deeper orange at the foot, and it is the one that suits a panelled or a warm room. An aqua version does the same in blue-green and is the cooler of the two. On the form: the reach of the two arms is set at order, and drawn in they read as a single cleft mass while taken further out they need a safer position. The ring openings can be widened until the arms become bands, or tightened to ordinary voids. The rock can be scaled up or kept compact. It travels standing in a fitted case with both arms sleeved and the stem braced, since the stem is the part a knock would find, and it is a one-person lift that two should place. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A colourless rock branching from one stem belongs with our abstract sculptures; arms leaning apart from a twisted stem join it to our organic sculptures, and clear resin outlined only by its edges suits our resin sculptures.

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
