Clear Branching Coral Tree Resin Sculpture, 69cm, with a solid trunk dividing into glassy branching limbs and forked tips, on a plain white background.
Clear Branching Coral Tree Resin Sculpture - 69cm $3,84500
Description

A branching form in colourless resin, like a coral or a winter tree. A broad, solid trunk, cut flat beneath, divides low into heavy limbs, and each of those divides again and again further up, so the form opens out as it goes. The branches end in small forked tips of two or three short points, and short spurs stand off along their length. The whole casting is left plain and glassy, with nothing cut or worked into the surface, and it is delivered as the one form, standing on its own trunk.

Forks Staggered All the Way Up

An open form in a colourless material is the hardest thing to cast well, because there is no colour to hide behind and every branch is seen from both sides at once. The sections are drawn so that no two branches are the same thickness at the same height, which is what keeps the form from resolving into a diagram. The forks are staggered up the whole height for the same reason. Put them all at one level and the piece reads as a candelabrum; stagger them and it reads as something that grew. The tips are the last decision: each one forks into small points, the way coral does, so the branches finish in a scatter of fine detail rather than in a blunt end.

A console or a wide shelf suits it, and it needs a dark surface behind it or the whole form disappears into a pale wall. Light from one side picks up the edges of every branch, which is where a colourless casting shows its drawing. It stands on the flat foot of its trunk. The forks divide at many different heights, so the form presents as grown rather than drawn, and no two of them make the same silhouette against a wall.

Tints, Branching and Delivery

Standard pieces take 3–4 weeks and bespoke commissions 5–6. The trunk can be tinted, and the forks are cast in other counts. The trunk is cast at other spans, and the branching is worked out to the size rather than copied. Carried out into the branches, a tint makes a far quieter object than the colourless one. Extra divisions are added where a denser form is wanted. It ships in one crate packed round the branches rather than against them, and it is lifted out by the trunk, never by a branch. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Branching belongs to organic sculpture before anything else, the colourless body is resin sculpture, and open work of this kind needs the room indoor sculpture allows for.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
