Description

This table is an upright block of optically clear resin, each of its four faces worked into soft vertical ripples that bend whatever is seen through them, with a flat top. Suspended inside are fine dark branch forms, and around the middle of the block their tips carry small petal shapes in gold, amber and pale mauve. The ripple and the branch work are read together: the surface moves as you walk past and the inclusions appear to shift with it.

Branch Forms Suspended in a Rippled Block

The branch forms are set in position and the resin is then poured around them in stages, so nothing floats out of place and no lift line shows between one stage and the next. The petal shapes stay where the twigs end, clustered round the middle of the block, and the clear resin around them is left empty so each one stands out. The rippled faces are worked after the block has cured, and each face is polished until the ripple reads as a moving surface rather than a texture.

At 64cm this sits at the height of a chair back, which makes it a drinks table beside a seat or a stand for a single object in a hall. Put it where light comes from behind or from one side: the branch work is only fully readable when something is passing through the block, and against a dark wall it closes up.

What Goes Inside, and What the Ripple Does to It

Production takes approximately 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The suspended branch work is the slow part. Three things about it are not fixed. What is suspended inside is open: branch forms as here, a single specimen, or nothing at all for a clear block. The petal shapes can be left out, and the ripple can be worked deeper so the distortion is stronger. The top span and the block height follow your figures. Several ordered together are worked so that where the branch work sits in the block agrees. The crate is packed to keep the rippled faces and the block arris clear, and it takes two people to move. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Twigs and petals held in rippled clear resin align this table with our contemporary and modern sculptures; it is also a working piece of our art furniture and is listed with our indoor sculptures.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
