Clear Branch Bundle Resin Sculpture - 42cm, bark-covered branches standing upright encased in clear resin, cut ends visible on top, plain white background.
Clear Branch Bundle Resin Sculpture - 42cm $5,06200
Description

This block holds not a trunk but a standing bundle of slender branches, bark still on them, packed upright and leaning against one another. Colourless resin fills the gaps between the stems, so the block is readable straight through in places and dense with timber in others, and the cut ends of every branch show as a scatter of small pale discs across the top face.

A Standing Bundle of Branches, Bark Left On

Built from many branches rather than one solid section of timber, it behaves quite differently from a log block. Each branch is a different diameter and none is straight: they cross, taper and knot, and where two lean together the resin between them narrows to nothing. The bark is left on and it is rough, flaking and knotted, so the block is full of small dark incidents rather than one broad grain. Every face of the block shows a different arrangement of the same bundle, which means the piece has four fronts and no back. The top is the most detailed face, with the cut ends reading as a pattern of pale rings among the clear resin.

At 42cm its top is about chair-arm height, wide enough for a lamp or a few books, though the pattern underneath is the reason to have it. It is a busy piece and it wants a plain setting: a quiet wall, a plain floor and nothing patterned near it, or the branches stop reading as branches. It is at its best where light comes from the side and rakes across the block face rather than from directly above. Indoor use only.

Branch Density and What Cannot Be Repeated

Making a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks, and making a bespoke one 5–6. Density is the specification here and it changes the piece completely: a loose bundle reads as a few branches standing in glass, with the block obviously transparent, while a packed one reads as a solid mass of timber with the resin barely visible. This version sits towards the packed end. What cannot be specified is the arrangement, because no two bundles of branches sit the same way and none can be reproduced from a drawing, so a repeat order is a comparable piece rather than a matching one. Order two together if a pair is wanted and they will at least be alike in density and species. The block is cut to other dimensions on request. It is crated standing and is best unpacked in the room it will live in, because the cut ends on top are the face most easily knocked against a doorframe. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Standing branches held in a cast block are close kin to our organic sculptures; for the clear resin side of the piece see our resin sculptures, and for its geometry our abstract sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
