The timber face of this block is very nearly white, a blonde sapwood with only the faintest warmth in it, set between broad bands of rough black bark. The block is rectangular rather than square, so the blonde face is the wide one and the bark bands are seen almost edge on from the front.
This is a high-contrast block and it reads from across a room. The sapwood is pale enough to look bleached and the bark either side of it is almost black, so the face divides into three bands with no middle tone anywhere between them. There is very little figure in the sapwood, a faint straight grain and one or two small knots, which is what keeps it reading as a flat pale field rather than a pattern. The bark is thick and deeply broken, and because the block is rectangular the two bands are foreshortened from the front and read as dark edges rather than as faces. A high-clarity casting resin keeps a face this pale reading white rather than green.
At 43cm, and rectangular rather than square, it sits flat against a wall rather than standing free. It works in a hall, along a landing or at the end of a bed, and the wide flat top takes a tray or a lamp comfortably. The near-white face is what lifts a dark corner and it needs no pale wall behind it. It suits limestone, linen and pale oak, and it keeps a dark room light. Indoor use only.
The standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. A sapwood this pale is a demanding surface to live with, and it is worth being straight about. Exposed sapwood takes a mark more readily than heartwood, and it will warm in strong daylight. A clear matt sealer can be specified over the sapwood at order, which slows the warming at the cost of a very slight change in tone; it is the option most customers take. The rectangular plan is made in other proportions to order, and a squarer block gives the bark bands more presence. The crate holds it standing, and the bark bands are the edges to keep clear of a doorframe, since bark chips where resin only scuffs. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Near-white sapwood in a rectangular cast block fits our abstract sculptures for its line, our organic sculptures for its timber, and our resin sculptures for the clear body.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
