A cast armchair in a translucent aqua. One broad band, deep from top to bottom and constant in that depth, forms the whole back and continues forward on each side to become an arm, finishing in a blunt end above the front leg. The seat is a thin flat panel slung between the arms. Four flat legs carry it, and on each side a runner along the floor joins the front leg to the rear one, so the front of the chair stays open between its legs.
The chair reads as one ribbon and that ribbon never changes depth. That single decision does the work: because the band is as deep at the arm as it is at the back, the arms read as continuations of a wall rather than as attached members, and the chair encloses without any part of it looking added on. The seat is deliberately thin against it, a flat panel with a plain edge, which throws the band's depth into relief. Being translucent and thick, the band doubles wherever it turns a corner, so each of the two front corners is a dense aqua mass while the flat runs are pale. Beneath the seat the horizontals are the two floor runners, and between the front legs the chair is left open.
With its seat at dining height, this is an armchair for a table rather than a lounge: the arms will not pass under a standard apron, so it suits the head of a table, a desk, or a single chair in a hall or bedroom. It reads best from the front, where the band's full sweep and both corners are seen at once. Given something plain behind it, the aqua stays legible; against a busy wall the whole band reads through. Its floor runners sit flattest on a hard floor. Indoors only.
Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The depth of the band is the first choice and the one that changes the chair most: this broad reading, or a narrower band that turns the piece into a frame with a visible gap under the back. The tint is second: this aqua can be deepened, softened or exchanged for another colour altogether. Third is the base, kept as here with a runner joining the legs on each side, or made with four separate legs for a lighter stance. Seat height and overall height are settled at order. Each chair arrives crated on its own, complete and finished, and a single person can manage it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Broad as a ribbon and aqua all through, this armchair is filed under our art furniture; the translucent casting is matched in our resin sculptures, and its unbroken curve in our organic sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
