An openwork scholar's rock built of thick, knobbly lobes, clear through the upper part and settling into a dark smoke toward the foot. Four big openings pierce it, and together they open up almost half of its outline. Every lobe carries its own polished ripple. Black marble is included beneath it.
Smoke at the foot gives an open form weight. Where the clear version is all light, this one is grounded: the dark gathers in the lowest lobes and clears as it rises, so the voids near the top are framed in clear resin and the one at the base in near-black. The lobes bulge and pinch round each opening, every one with its own dimpled ripple, and the polish puts a moving highlight on each, brighter on the clear lobes above than on the smoked ones below.
It suits a sideboard or a reception desk at 65cm on its block, and the smoke at the foot means it holds its own on a pale surface. Its openings need space behind them, a window or open room rather than a wall close up. Light from one side keeps the lobes distinct, and a downlight merges them.
Our workshops take 3–4 weeks over a standard piece and 5–6 over a bespoke commission. The smoke can be carried higher until the lower half reads dark, or kept to a shadow at the base, and it can be warmed toward brown. Two or six voids can be cut in place of four. Paler marble is available for the base. It is crated upright, foam in every opening and a brace under the arch at the top, and two people should set it down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A lobed rock clearing from smoke to glass sits among our abstract sculptures; four voids framed in clear and in dark set it among our organic sculptures, and smoke sinking to the foot keeps it with our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
