A flat plate of clear resin cut to an S-like outline, with gold leaf caught in patches along its upper edges, standing on a black marble block over a gold-finished plate. The body is colourless and the leaf is the only colour on it, glinting where the outline turns. Two supports come with it: a stone block, and a plate beneath that.
Metal inside a casting behaves as nothing applied to a surface can: it is there from one position and gone from the next. Leaf applied to the outside of a sculpture is there from every angle. Leaf laid inside the casting is not: it catches at some positions and disappears at others as the material turns, so the piece is never quite the same object twice. Gold leaf laid into a clear body sits at a depth rather than on the surface, so the edges glint from some angles and vanish from others as the material turns. Polished over every face, and the leaf is under the polish rather than over it.
It belongs on a cabinet top or a wide desk, at the two or three feet from which the cutting reads. Dark behind it is what makes the gold carry; a pale ground turns the whole thing into an outline. Light from one side is what fires the leaf. Move the light and a different set of edges lights up. The gold announces it from the door and the S-curve of the outline is what holds you once you are there.
Production takes approximately 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The leaf can be run over more of the form, it can be left out, and the plate can be finished in another metal. Run the leaf over the faces as well as the edges and the plate stops being transparent, which is a decision about the whole object rather than a finish. One crate with the two supports packed beneath, and they stack in the order they are taken out. Two people. The plate goes down first, then the block, then the casting. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Gold leaf held in clear resin over a steel plate leads to our stainless steel sculptures; the S-curved plate above belongs to our abstract sculptures, and a study lit from one side shows its gold among our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
