Description

A flat plate cut to an angular outline with leaf shapes set through the body at several depths. Colourless through the plate with gilded leaf shapes set inside it, and the gilt is the only colour on the piece. A black marble block is included, with a gilt plate beneath it. The outline is open, so the room is seen through the frame as well as through the resin.

An Arrangement That Cannot Be Changed Afterwards

Once the leaves are inside the plate nothing about them can be moved, so the arrangement is decided in one go and the piece is either right or it is begun again. That is why no two of these come out alike and why the outline is cut afterwards, against where the leaves actually fell rather than where they were meant to. A body of this depth holds the leaves at the angle they are set at, and nothing afterwards moves them: the arrangement is decided once. Both faces are polished and the cut edge with them, with the leaves left matt inside.

It belongs on a desk with something behind it that can be lit. Behind it, something dark. Gilt against a bright wall stops being gilt. Backlight puts the leaves into the air; front light lays them on the surface. The cut outline carries; the leaves inside it are a hand's-distance fact.

More Leaves, Another Gilt, and One Crate

Standard pieces take 3–4 weeks and bespoke commissions 5–6. Say the word and more leaves are set through it, the gilt is exchanged, or the opening is cut elsewhere. Cut the outline differently and the leaves are re-placed inside it, since they are set against the edge rather than on a grid. Where the outline is cut is settled against the leaves. One crate, with the block and the gilt plate packed under the casting. Two people at the crate, hands on the block and not the plate. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
