A hook rises from a ribbed foot and turns back over itself, with shards set along the inside of the curve. Colourless through the hook, with gilt set into the shards along the inner curve. The ribbed foot is cast with the hook, and the piece stands on it with nothing supplied beneath.
The shards go in from the foot upward and each one settles where the next can sit, so the length of the hook is not fixed when the piece is begun. It ends at the point where the last one leaves room for nothing further, which is why the curve closes where it does and not somewhere else. Shards set inside a clear body is the whole of this one: each is held at its own angle, and the body around them is what keeps them apart. The hook is frosted and the foot left ribbed, with the gilt shards bright against both.
It wants a console with the inner curve turned into the room. It reads best a little above the eye. Something dark behind it, or the gilt stops reading as gilt. A source low and to one side lights the shards from beneath, which is what the arrangement is drawn for. The hook carries; the shards inside it are a near fact.
Our workshops take 3–4 weeks over a standard piece and 5–6 over a bespoke commission. Ask us for more shards, for the gilt exchanged, or for the hook drawn to another curve. Add shards and the hook widens to carry them, because each one needs clearance from the next. Samples of the gilt go out before anything is cast. A single crate, and there is no setting up to do. One person, two hands under the foot, and the hook left alone. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A clear hook holding gilded shards along its curve leads to our organic sculptures; the gilt and clear casting belongs among our resin sculptures, and it sits at eye level among our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
