Clear & Brown Splash Crown Resin Sculpture - 70cm, a crown-like resin form with brown-veined base rising to clear points on a round disc, shown on a plain white background.
Clear & Brown Splash Crown Resin Sculpture - 70cm $3,25500
Description

This cast resin sculpture is a clear splash crown with a warm brown drawn up from the foot of it, standing on a broad clear disc of the same material. The brown runs through the walls of the ring in streaks and darker veins, densest low down, and fades as it climbs, so the points at the top are as colourless as the disc beneath them. Its fingers rise to rounded drops at different heights all the way round, and a few reach out low across the disc. The disc is not a base under the piece: it is cast with it and the two are one object.

Brown Through the Body and Clear at the Tips

Colour that stops before the tips looks as though it rose with the water; colour that reaches them looks painted on, and there is no way back from the second. Here the brown is carried up through the walls of the ring in loose streaks and darker veins, like tea stirred into clear water, and it thins as it climbs until the fingers above the rim are glassy and colourless. Because the brown is part of the casting rather than a coat on it, it is seen through the clear walls from every side, and the streaks cross one another differently as you walk round. Where the colour ends is different every time.

The disc under it is clear, so whatever it stands on is seen through the piece and becomes part of it. On dark timber the brown almost disappears and the crown reads as a colourless splash; on a pale stone the brown separates and the whole thing lifts. That makes the surface it is put on a real decision rather than a matter of convenience. It is low and wide, so it belongs where it can be looked down into rather than met square on. On a sideboard or anything at about waist height the disc reads as part of the piece; met at eye level it goes to a line and half of the object is lost.

Poured Rather Than Painted, and Delivery

The standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. The brown has to run through the crown and stop before the tips, or the piece reads as painted rather than poured. The brown can be taken to an amber or a smoke grey, the disc is drawn to any diameter, and a version with no disc at all is made. How far up the colour is taken is set at order, and the crown can be drawn with fewer and heavier points where a quieter piece is wanted. The disc and the crown travel as one piece in a flat crate, faced on both sides with the rim boarded, and nothing is put together on arrival. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A clear crown streaked with brown and rising from a disc of its own material sits comfortably within our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
