Clear & Blue Rising Water Canopy Resin Sculpture, 170cm, on a black marble plinth, blue churning stem rising into a clear droplet canopy, shown against a plain white background.
Clear & Blue Rising Water Canopy Resin Sculpture - 170cm $2,97000
Description

A narrow churning stem opening at the top into a broad canopy of separate droplets, each one carried on a stem of its own. Blue is banked in the churning stem and clears as the water goes up, so the canopy is almost colourless. A marble block and a tall plinth are supplied beneath it.

Water Held at Its Widest

Water breaking outward is difficult to hold up, because the moment it is most worth looking at is the moment it has the least underneath it. The canopy reaches wider than the stone beneath it, which is why the piece looks caught in the act rather than settled. Every droplet in the canopy is carried on something thinner than itself, and the body has to hold all of them at once. Polished everywhere, including between droplets where nothing will ever reach again.

A hall, an atrium or the end of a gallery, where the canopy can be seen from underneath. It needs something dark behind it. On a white wall the canopy turns into a grey cloud and the droplets stop counting. Light from below throws the whole canopy into relief; from above it closes up. The stem reads as a dark line from the door and the canopy resolves into separate droplets at two paces.

Opening the Canopy, and Delivery

Bespoke commissions take 5–6 weeks; standard pieces take 3–4. The canopy is opened wider, the blue is carried further up, and a single plinth replaces the pair. Open the canopy wider and the stem has to be thickened, because everything overhanging is carried on it. One pallet, three parts: the plinth is set down and levelled, the block follows, and the casting comes last with the canopy boxed clear. Two people, hands on the stem and never in the canopy. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Water breaking into a canopy of droplets belongs to our organic sculptures; the clear and blue casting joins our resin sculptures, and more for the end of a gallery is in our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
