Clear & Black Petal Shell Resin Swivel Chair - 80cm
Clear & Black Petal Shell Resin Swivel Chair - 80cm $3,37400
Description

Black ink rises through the back of this clear resin shell like ink dropped into water, a dark plume climbing from the seat to the middle of the back. Every petal is traced by a glossy black rim, from the turned-out tips down to the front of the seat. The shell stands on a satin brass column, flanged where it meets the seat, above a satin brass disc.

A Black Ink Plume Inside a Black-Rimmed Shell

Black and clear make a graphic combination, and the rim is what draws the shell: one continuous black line that follows each petal and turns out with the tips, so the silhouette reads like a pen outline. Inside it the ink behaves quite differently, soft and smoky, rising in dark wisps that are thickest above the seat and break into fine trails higher up. Between them the clear resin shows every crease and fold of the shell. Satin brass beneath all the black and clear adds warmth.

Black, clear and brass suit a monochrome room, a dressing area with a large mirror, or a study desk in dark timber. From behind it reads as a piece of sculpture, so it can stand out in a room instead of backing onto a wall. The column lets it swivel. The brass disc wants solid, level ground. Indoor use only.

Plume Density, Brass Finish and Assembly at Home

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. How much black goes into the back is set at order, from a few trails to a heavy plume, and the rim can be kept black or left clear. This stand is satin brass; black, chrome or a brushed brass can be fitted instead. The ink is placed by hand, so the plume takes its own shape on every shell. Shell and column come apart for delivery and are fixed together at the plate under the seat with the bolts supplied. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Ink-black and clear, the swivel seat appears in our art furniture; its satin brass stand points to our metal sculptures, its petals to our organic sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
