Description

A rounded hump of clear resin rises to a high dome just left of centre and sweeps away in one long slope to the right, its left flank bulging outwards before it meets the base. A small arch breaks the line of the foot, and slender slivers of dark amber lie at an angle through the body like quick brush strokes. The rock comes on a black wooden base that is part of the order, and it is sold singly.

Amber Strokes in an Icy Dome

Its surface is textured all over like ice beginning to thaw, catching small points of light across the dome while the resin beneath stays clear enough to show the slivers. They are long and narrow, and each is turned so that it offers either a glossy face or a dark edge. The black base is wood, smooth to the touch, with squared ends that give the soft outline a firm line to rest on. No two rocks show the strokes of amber in an identical arrangement.

It suits a console in a hall, a dining-room sideboard or a credenza behind a desk, where its rounded shape softens a run of straight lines around it. A pale or neutral wall shows the amber to advantage, and a window to one side gives the textured dome a steady, quiet sparkle. Indoor use only.

Choosing the Slivers and the Base

Set aside 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The amber slivers can be exchanged for metal leaf or another inclusion, and a natural wood or a stone base can replace the black if it does not suit the room. Other dimensions are produced to order, and a commission can start from a drawing of your own. The rock travels in a made-to-measure crate with the base wrapped separately, and it should be lifted from below with both hands. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
