Clear Amber Flame Form Resin Sculpture, 76cm, rising flame-like shape fading from clear to gold to deep amber with pierced openings, on a black marble base against a plain light background.
Clear Amber Flame Form Resin Sculpture - 76cm $2,29400
Description

The Clear Amber Flame Form Resin Sculpture rises and licks over to one side the way a flame does, and the black marble base it rises from is supplied with it. It is colourless at the very tip, warms through gold across the body and darkens to a deep amber where it meets the base, and five openings of different sizes are pierced through the middle and the bottom third.

A Form That Licks Over at the Tip

The upper third is the whole piece. It narrows to a set of thin tongues that lean out beyond the body below, so the sculpture is off balance visually while sitting perfectly still, and the tongues are left colourless while everything under them is warm. That contrast is what makes the lean read. Below, the body broadens and the openings begin, and they are cut at angles rather than square through, so each one shows a different thickness of amber depending on where you stand. The outline is lobed and no two lobes match.

At 76cm overall this is a console, sideboard or hall piece, tall enough to read at standing height and narrow enough not to crowd a surface. It is a warm piece and it suits a room with timber and brass in it rather than one that is all plaster and stone. It wants light from the side or behind so the amber lifts; overhead light puts the tongues in shadow and loses them. Indoor use only.

Turning a Flame Form to the Room

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. Because the piece leans, which way it faces is a real decision rather than a preference, and it is made on site rather than at order. Turned with the lean into the room the sculpture reads as movement and the colourless tongues catch the light; turned with the lean towards the wall it reads as a solid mass and most of the top is lost. Set at a quarter angle it does both, and that is where most people leave it. On the options: where the colour starts is chosen at order, other tints can take the amber's place, and blue, teal, frosted grey-teal and gold-flecked colourless versions are made on the same form. A pale stone base can be specified, and it warms the amber rather than grounding it. The tongues at the tip are the thinnest material on the piece, so it travels in a fitted foam shell cut to its outline with the base packed separately, and it is lifted around the broad body beneath the tongues. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A flame licking over at its tip belongs with our abstract sculptures; colourless tongues above a warm pierced body set it among our organic sculptures, and amber thickening toward its base suits our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
