Giant Sculptures' Classical Historical Male Bust, a 90cm dark bronze portrait of an 18th-century figure in cravat and wig, on a speckled granite plinth.
Classical Historical Male Bust Bronze Bust - 90cm $18,53000
Description

The Classical Historical Male Bust stands at 90cm including its substantial granite plinth, presenting a frontal portrait of a distinguished 18th-century male figure rendered with precise, unhurried detail. The upward-gazing head, draped in formal period attire with a ruffled cravat, carries the quiet authority of a commemorative commission.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

Cast using the lost-wax method, this bronze portrait bust achieves a level of surface resolution rarely possible in other materials. Every fold of the collar, every line of the aged face, and the soft volume of the powdered wig hairstyle emerge from the casting with exceptional fidelity. The patina is a deep, dark brown tending toward near-black in the recessed areas, lending the piece the visual weight of an antique original rather than a reproduction. The hand-finished bronze bust is mounted on a large rectangular granite plinth with a mottled reddish-brown and grey speckled surface, whose mass anchors the composition with appropriate formality.

This piece suits institutional and residential settings equally. A panelled library, a stone-floored entrance hall, a covered colonnade, or a formal garden terrace would each provide the right context. The dark bronze and speckled granite palette works with both cool stone interiors and warm timber-panelled rooms. Rated for indoor and outdoor placement, the bronze surface performs reliably in exterior conditions without loss of patination quality.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

The patina can be adjusted to a warmer mid-brown, a greenish verdigris, or a polished natural bronze tone on request. Scale can be increased or reduced to suit specific architectural settings. The piece can also be commissioned as a fully bespoke portrait bust, inspired by the work of historical portraiture traditions, to your own subject and specifications. Please contact us before ordering if you wish to discuss any customisation.
