A square shaft in a pale champagne amber with gold leaf caught through it, standing on a squared foot of bronze-toned stainless steel. The shaft finishes in a chamfered cap cut with small triangular reliefs, and a seated guardian lion of the same resin sits on top of it, the mane in tight curls. The colour is light enough to pass a good deal of daylight, so the shaft glows rather than shines, and the metal foot reads as a dark band holding it down.
A resin shaft on a metal foot is two materials with different habits, and the join has to allow for that: resin moves with temperature more than steel does, so the shaft is seated into the foot rather than fixed hard against it, and the fit is made where a hairline would be read as a shadow rather than as a gap. The champagne colour is the other consideration. A pale amber shows every internal flaw that a saturated colour would hide, so the leaf is placed along the arrises, where the light gathers, instead of across the open faces.
At 130cm the lion sits just below the eye of someone standing, which is where a guardian is supposed to be met, so this goes on the floor: a hall, an entrance, a stair foot, either side of a doorway. The metal foot means it can stand on stone or timber without a pad. A pale colour needs light behind or beside it: with a window across the hall the shaft carries daylight up its whole height, and under a downlight only the cap and the lion light up.
Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. The shaft is made in this champagne, in a clear body, in an amber or in a smoke, and the leaf is gold here, with silver and copper offered, or none at all. The foot is made in this bronze tone, in mirror steel, in a brushed finish or in black stone. The animal on the cap is made as this lion, as a sphere or as a lotus bud, and the triangular reliefs on the cap can be left plain. It ships upright with the foot and the lion boxed apart and both seated on site. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A champagne column with a seated lion belongs with our lion statues; a cap cut with triangular reliefs leads to our classic sculptures, and a resin shaft on a steel foot joins our metal sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
