Brown Timber & Clear Resin Twin Gold Cane Console, 200cm, with dark polished wood top, clear resin end cap, and gold bamboo-form canes piercing through, shown on a plain white background.
Brown Timber & Clear Resin Twin Gold Cane Console - 200cm $13,77100
Description

Dark polished timber forms the top of this console and, bending down at one end, a squared panel that stands on the floor, while clear resin caps the opposite end of the slab. Two gold bamboo-form canes, ringed at each node, stand beneath that end, and rather than stopping under the slab they pass right through it and rise above the top.

Two Canes Carrying One End of a Slab

The slab and the end panel are both solid timber, and clear resin is cast against the wood to close the free end in a glassy block. The canes are made to length with their ring nodes worked in individually and set through the slab so they rise above it - which means the openings are cut to each cane and not the cane to the openings. The gold finish is applied once each cane is complete, and the two are checked against one another before either is set in place.

A hall or an entrance is where it belongs, and since the canes rising above the top are the point of it, it wants to be met on your feet with clear air overhead rather than set beneath a picture. The canes are at one end only, which gives the piece a definite orientation worth settling before it is set down against a wall.

The Patina, the Canes, and the Timber

It takes 3–4 weeks to make as standard, and 5–6 weeks to make bespoke. Most of it is the bamboo cane work. Three choices are open. More or fewer canes can be fitted, their gold can be toned to a deeper patina, and another timber can be chosen where a paler or darker slab suits the room better. Both the top length and the cane height are yours to set. Ask for several together if the patina on the canes needs to agree between them. Crated with the cane tops and the panel end protected, it is a four-person lift. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Two gilded bamboo canes standing proud of dark timber connect the piece with our metal sculptures; for an entrance hall, look in our art furniture, and for the cane motif, our organic sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
