Brown Timber & Clear Resin Gold Bamboo Leg Console, 150cm, with gold bamboo-form canes piercing the slab and a clear resin edge, on a plain white background.
Brown Timber & Clear Resin Gold Bamboo Leg Console - 150cm $9,99000
Description

A slab of solid red-brown timber turns down at one end into a squared panel, and clear resin lines the underside of the slab and the inside of the panel, then runs on past the timber at the free end as a clear block. Near that end the slab stands on a bundle of gold bamboo-form canes, which do not stop beneath it but rise through the top and finish clear above it.

Bamboo That Carries the Slab and Keeps Going

The timber is the body of the console, its grain running along the front edge of the slab and down the panel end, and clear resin is laid against its inner faces so the wood seems to stop in mid-air where the resin carries on. Each cane is cut to its own length, its ring nodes formed along it, and passed through a hole in the slab sized to that cane alone, so every hole is fitted to its cane and never the reverse. The gold finish is applied to the finished tube. Each node is worked in individually rather than repeated from one pattern, so the bundle reads as cut canes and not as turnings.

Meant for a hall or an entrance, it earns its place through the gold bamboo rising well clear of the top, so it should be seen from standing height rather than pushed away beneath a picture. The canes are at one end only, which gives the piece a definite orientation worth settling first.

The Bundle, the Timber, and Setting It Level

Every standard piece is made in 3–4 weeks, and every bespoke commission in 5–6. Most of it is the bamboo bundle. Three things can change. The number of canes is yours to name, a darker patina is offered on the metal, and the clear resin can be given a tint. You give the top length and the bamboo height. Once the order is placed as one, the stand of the bamboo above the top is carried through it. The bamboo tops and the slab arris must sit clear of the crate on all sides; four people will carry it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Gold canes rising through a timber slab tie this console to our metal sculptures; it stands in a hall as part of our art furniture, and the bamboo form joins our organic sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
